Lyft Celebrating Black History Month with Free Rides to Black History Museums, Memorials, and Black-Owned Businesses

Written by Darryl Johnson

In celebration of Black History Month Lyft is offering people a chance to get out into the world and be active during Black History Month. Lyft will provide one free ride up to $10 to Black history museums, memorials, and relevant cultural sites in cities across the country. The company also has made it known that it will extend the offer for those who want to attend Black-owned businesses. Their initial goal is to help build inclusion and become more connected throughout communities while helping provide greater opportunity for the leaders of tomorrow. As a company, Lyft is trying to establish diversity within the community as well as trying to make a positive impact throughout society.

Lyft is also celebrating its one-year anniversary with its partnership with Black Girls Code., which is an organization committed to increasing the representation of African-American women in technology. The goal of this existing group is to provide women with coding skills. The organization has raised over $350,000 to date, and all participating Lyft riders can support this organization by opting into the Lyft’s Round Up and donation program.

To be qualified for the discount, the Lyft ride must begin or end at the participating location. This code expires on February 28th, at 11:59pm and riders are limited to one code per Lyft account. Below are the participating cities and the designated locations offered for this promotion:
