Kristen Hopkins, Founder & CEO of Dangers of the Mind has partnered with The Urban Assembly (UA) to host a Youth Girls Conference with a Social Emotional Learning Forum
Social emotional learning empowers with the abilities that directly impact not only lives academically, but success and happiness. Kristen Hopkins, Founder & CEO of Dangers of the Mind, in partnership with The Urban Assembly (UA) is excited to host a Youth Girls Conference with a Social Emotional Learning Forum. The Youth Girls Conference will be held on Friday, May 10, 2019 at the School of Business for Young Women located at 81 New Street New York, NY beginning at 9:00 AM. Girls ages 14-18 invited from schools within the UA and New York City will be in attendance.
The conference speakers will be Lindsey Granger, National Correspondent of The List Show, Entrepreneur and Reality TV Personality Althea Heart and Kristen Hopkins, Founder & CEO of Dangers of the Mind. The Youth Girls Conference will also include women facilitators to conduct the program panel discussions and day sessions throughout the one-day program. The goal of the conference is to provide young girls with responsive social-emotional activities that they can connect with and build Social Emotional Learning (SEL) skills. The conference will consist of workshop sessions to include topics such as “Slay Your Anxiety”, “Strut in My Shoes”, and “Uncage Your Rage & Unleash Your Power,” to name a few.
Social and emotional learning (SEL) is the process through which children and adults understand and manage emotions, set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions.
