National Black MBA Association Concludes its 40th Anniversary Annual Conference in Detroit, MI

1 Mission 1 Voice was the theme for this years National Black MBA Association annual conference. Celebrating the 40th anniversary of the conference, it was a week full of learning, networking, and building. Attracting more than 10,000 attendees, the NBMBAA Annual Conference is the most sought after conference in the US.

The conference kicked off on Wednesday with the annual Graduate Case Competition. Schools from all over the US created teams for this highly competitive competition. Breakout sessions were also the highlight of the conference. Sessions included; Failing Big Before 30, How to Transform your Brand, Working in Tech, Digital Emerging Trends, Women in Leadership, Motivating and Retaining Gen Z’s and more.

Each year during the annual conference, NBMBAA host a career expo which includes companies from all over the US. The expo is one of the signature events during the conference and attracts a variety of conference goers. John Deer, Wells Fargo, Marriott, Pepsi, NBA, Warner Brothers, FDIC, and Exxon Mobile were among the many companies in attendance. 

Receptions were also a hit during the annual conference. The opening reception kicked off on Wednesday evening at the Opera ans included catered food, music by DJ Gary Chandler, and sponsored by Courvoisier. The theme was “Rep Your School” and attendees came dressed for the occasion.

The conference concluded with the annual Impact Awards Black Tie Experience hosted by Lamman Rucker. The awards is a fundraising event for the Leaders of Tomorrow program of NBMBAA. Following the awards, NBMBAA hosted “MBA Live: 90s Block Party” with performances by Q Parker and Bel Biv Devoe.
