The Arts Council of Greater Greensboro Launches Professional Development Hub for Guilford County Creatives

As an artist or creative, you are a small business. To support the continued growth of the creative community, The Arts Council of Greater Greensboro has launched the Professional Development Hub for Creatives, an innovative initiative designed for Guilford County residents. This hub is set to provide local creatives with opportunities to learn, grow, and thrive.

About the Program:

Beginning March 2024, the Professional Development Hub for Creatives will offer selected participants access to free small business workshops and lectures in partnership with SCORE, the Small Business Center, and Triangle ArtWorks. These programs, developed in collaboration with local organizations dedicated to empowering entrepreneurs, aim to equip creatives with the knowledge and skills needed to start and grow their businesses.

“We are so excited to partner with The Arts Council of Greater Greensboro on training for artists and creatives”, says Cynthia Deis, ArtSwell Education Director at Triangle Art Works. “Artists are small businesses and providing them with targeted professional development support is essential to making Greater Greensboro's local creative economy stronger and even more exciting. The professional development hub is a wonderful beginning for the creative community of Greater Greensboro”.

How It Works:

Step One - Online Survey:

To be considered for the program, participants must first complete the online survey. This assessment, focused on career development, guides participants in thoughtful self-reflection. Applicants are encouraged to be frank about their current professional standing and aspirations.

Step Two - Personalized Guidance:

Following the survey assessment, the hub's professional staff will engage in individual conversations with participants to discuss tailored educational opportunities. This step allows participants to articulate their goals, readiness, and commitment, ensuring a customized learning path aligned with their unique needs.

How to Get Involved:
