Pay-What-You-Can: A Place At The Table Announces Reopening July 22

After closing their doors for four weeks, A Place At The Table (APATT) is set to reopen on Wednesday, July 22 for walk-up and phone-in ordering only.

During the four weeks, the pay-what-you-can cafe on West Hargett Street expanded into the former Alli boutique space next door, allowing them to build a full commercial kitchen with a flat top, hood system and fryer, and add about 50 more seats.

The full kitchen has allowed APATT’s chef Andrew Gravens to fully showcase his cooking skills in a new, larger menu. Breakfast items include Graven’s famous biscuits and gravy, avocado toast, seasonal yogurt bowls and a build-your-own biscuit sandwich. Meanwhile, on the lunch menu you’ll find a BBQ chicken sandwich, buffalo chicken sandwich, black bean melt and more. Everything on the menus are chef-prepared and homemade, except for the sourdough bread (yet).

APATT also switched their coffee offerings to Black & White Coffee Roasters in order to support a hyper-local black-owned business. Their new full coffee and espresso bar will offer drip coffee, cappuccinos, lattes and other espresso-based beverages.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, APATT has been giving out 250 to 300 meals a day to community members in need, and they need your support to continue these efforts. By visiting the cafe, you are paying it forward for people that can’t afford to eat, while getting a great, satisfying meal. You can also show your support by making a donation on APATT’s website, tableraleigh.org.

Place your curbside pickup order by phone or at the cafe from 8 to 2 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday.
