Atlanta celebrated National Tackle Reading Across America Day 2022 at Heritage Academy with over 50+ authors, celebrities, recording artist, influencers, and notable talent. The event kicked off with each celebrity and special guest reading to individual classrooms at Heritage Academy. We are proud to say that every classroom was read to and for a finale, we held (2) pep rallies for Kindergarten to 2nd grade and 3rd grade to 5th grade; while practicing the best of social distancing and enough room for the students of Heritage Academy to dance, sing, and chant that READING IS ESSENTIAL TO THE SOUL!
Every author that donated books, totaling 1500+ books, will be dispersed throughout the libraries and classrooms in Atlanta Public Schools. Several of our sponsors donated ice cream (Black Authors Matter Tour + Men’s Business Quarterly Magazine) and a huge donation of over 600+ snacks from ATLTop20 (Music Executive/Influencer)! The impact today connected real life professional athletes, recording artists, influencers, and other notable talent with the students of Heritage Academy to provide a visual portrayal of where exactly reading and education can take you, and promote increased literacy scores in the youth.
