Meet the Mogul! Dr. Malini Saba Helping Millions Globally

Dubbed by Forbes as 'instilled in values of giving back and outreach,' Dr. Saba is a successful businesswoman committed to serving humanity through proven achievements in investment, real estate, commodity, and PC industries. Dr. Saba repeatedly produces sustained revenue growth in dynamic and changing markets and 'reinvests reinvests reinvests' with a special interest in women-led ventures.

Dr. Saba has helped millions of underserved women and children in South and Southeast Asia, South America, Africa, and the US gain access to life-saving medical facilities and educational services and achieve economic stability.

Dr. Saba started her career in 1990 and established Saba Group, a group of companies that primarily operate in the agriculture and mining industries, employing locals to maintain economic stability and provide jobs to communities. Saba Group operates in over 20 countries with 15 companies across ten verticals. Since the inception of her company, Dr. Saba has gained a strong foothold in the industrial commodities markets, managing venture capital in Silicon Valley and employing locals to maintain economic stability and provide jobs to communities.

Under Dr. Saba's direction, Saba Group worked with a wide variety of clients, such as Cargill, BAOSTEEL Group, COFCO International, Glencore, Jindal Steel & Power, LG, and Mitsui & Co.

Later came the "Anannke Foundation," established by Dr. Saba in 2002. The foundation's mission is to help at least one billion people worldwide, and to accomplish this goal; it constantly organizes campaigns to provide nutrition, basic healthcare, and education, and to promote art and culture, as well as to provide opportunities to break the cycle of poverty and eradicate illiteracy regarding human rights issues.

As part of her research, Dr. Saba continues to explore areas needing leadership-driven intervention, including new opportunities at all levels.

Business Mogul: Launching your entrepreneurial career in 1990 with the establishment of the Saba Group, looking back, how did you envision the beginning of what would be the future of business and ethics?

Dr. Saba: It was a passion more than a career. I wanted to help build companies, and that's how it began. It later morphed into a large portfolio. Giving back is a priority for me, which is why 99% of what I make goes back into the foundation.

Business Mogul: Your creation of the "Anannke Foundation" has provided millions in capital for charitable support, obtaining millions in rice donations, scholarships, and housing. How do you organize your campaigns to consistently target healthcare, culture, illiteracy, and other basic necessities?

Dr. Saba: We are a catalyst organization, always working with other organizations that require support. In some cases, like the rice donations, we handle ourselves and partner with ground support. Our mission is to help one woman, and she will help better her community - and even her nation.

In every country, we work with NGOs (non-government organizations) on the ground. For example, Comfy Care is based in Tanzania and provides menstrual pads to young girls in the poorest areas, enabling them to stay in school. We then look at what other needs those communities require and support what's needed.

Business Mogul: After helping millions of people thus far, how will you feel when you have reached your goal of helping at least one billion people worldwide? In other words, how will you feel when you have dismantled illiteracy and poverty to provide for people regardless of their ethical background?

Dr. Saba: This should have been done decades ago. In many countries, the local governments prefer to keep their communities poor and helpless, enabling them to keep winning elections and gain cheap labor. There is a benefit in the political eye to keeping hunger and poverty around -- just like there is power to keep engaging in wars. Someone higher up is benefiting financially.

There is enough food to feed the world, but we are constantly told we have little. And when you create fear, you gain power. My point is it's a slow process. Still, I am determined that through collaboration and consistency, we will achieve and put the power back in the hands of the people to make better decisions for their future by giving them access to education, microloans, free health care, and access to food.

Business Mogul: Is there any advice you have regarding the most important ethical business practices and strategies that helped propel your vision past others' similar visions related to business and ethics?

Dr. Saba: I have always stayed true to my calling, which has been to make money to give back. Ethics is very important when we build anything. In business, it is of utmost importance. We must always be an example to those behind us, and greed must never be the leading goal. The vision and mission should be leading your passion.

I believe you have to do things for the greater good of mankind in whatever we do on this planet. We are here to leave a better future for our offspring. Teaching people to unite is key; with unity, you gain the strength to achieve anything. I have always stayed in my lane, doing my thing and keeping my head down to achieve success to help millions.
